Who we are

Ligra Capital Limited (“us” or “we”) incorporated in Kenya, operates the Pillar mobile application (the “App”) which is hosted on Google Play Store (the “App Site”). Protecting your privacy:

When you use Ligra’s Website or Mobile App, you are providing some personal information about who you are and how you use our services. We collect, store and analyse this information to provide our Services to you, monitor technical performance of our services, and offer better services for our users.
This Policy describes what information we collect, how we use that information and the basis for doing so. By downloading and using our App, you agree to the collection, processing, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Policy, terms used in this Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

A. Information we collect:

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

1. Information submitted to us:

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data“). Personal Data may include, but is not limited to; Your name, address, email address, phone number, financial and credit information cookies and Usage Data. We may also ask for the Device’s information including phone number, SIM card, age, username, password and other registration information.
You submit this information to us by:

  • filling in forms in our App or on the App Site ;
  • corresponding with us (for example, by e-mail or chat); and
  • registering to use the App Site, downloading or registering the App, subscribing to any of our Services (such as applying for a loan), searching for an App or Service, [sharing data via the App’s social media functions, entering a competition, promotion or survey,] and reporting a problem with our App, our Services, or any of Our Sites;

2. Information about your device:

Whenever you access our App or visit our Site, by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to:

  • technical information, including the type of mobile device you use, unique device identifiers (for example, your Device’s IMEI or serial number), information about the SIM card used by the Device, mobile network information, your Device’s operating system, the type of browser you use, or your Device’s location and time zone setting (Device Information);
  • information stored on your Device, including contact lists, call logs and SMS logs ;
  • details of your use of any of our Apps or your visits to any of Our Service Sites; including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data (Log Information).

The Company may change, suspend, or discontinue all or any part of the Service at any time, with or without reason. You acknowledge that the operation of the Service may from time to time encounter technical or other problems and may not necessarily continue uninterrupted or without technical or other errors and The Company shall not be responsible to you or others for any such interruptions, errors or problems or an outright discontinuance of the Service.

3. Location information.

We may also use GPS technology OR other location services to determine your current location. You can withdraw your consent to our collection, processing or use of this information at any time by logging out and uninstalling the App from your Device.

4. Information we receive from other sources (Third Party Information).

Due to the nature of the Services which we provide, we are required to work with a number of third parties (including credit reference agencies and mobile network providers) and we may request and receive information about you from them.

5. Unique application numbers.

When you install or uninstall our App (subsequent updates or versions thereof) which contains a unique application number or when our App searches for automatic updates, that number and information about your installation, for example, the type of operating system, may be sent to us.

6. Tracking & Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

Analytics

We may use the analytics tools and software in order to develop and analyze use of the Service. Analytics companies may access anonymous individual data to help us understand how the Service is used. We may link the information we store within the analytics software to any Personal Information you submit within the mobile applications.
By uninstalling the app from your Device, you can withdraw your consent from accessing your Customer Information in the future. We may keep and share stored Customer Information after the point of uninstall for as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which Customer Information was obtained or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, or for legitimate business purposes, or as permitted by law.

B. How we use this information:

Information collected by us shall be used for the purposes defined in this Policy. These include:

  • To verify your identity;
  • To provide and maintain the Service. For example determining whether or not to provide a loan to the customer, the amount of such loan and the terms and conditions applicable to such loan;
  • To notify you about changes to our App;
  • To provide customer care and support;
  • To provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our App;
  • To monitor the usage of the App;
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues;
  • To detect and prevent fraud and other illegal uses of the App;

We may share limited personal information with select partners for purposes of research and development. Our partners have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
We may provide other parties with anonymous individual information about our users for the purposes of compiling statistics relating to our user base or loan portfolio and may disclose such information to any third party for such purposes, provided that such information will always be anonymous. We anonymise and aggregate the information we share with third-party services so that they are not able to identify you as an individual.

We may disclose your Personal Data:

  1. to comply with a legal obligation in connection with a formal request, subpoena, court order, or similar legal procedure; or
  2. in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

D. Security Of Data

The security of your data is important to us, however, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

E. Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you when you next start the App or log onto the App Site. The new terms may be displayed on-screen and you may be required to read and accept them to continue your use of the App or the Services.
